The Texas Standard Tie Spacing is an informal "specification" for tie spacing of 5.5 inches from tie to tie for 1/8 scale railroads. As of 2020 it is a commonly used tie spacing on many Texas railroads, including:

A typical wooden track jig utilizes 1x4 boards for spacers (3.5 inch real width) between ties, and 2 inch space for the ties. This accommodates both plastic ties (1-7/8 inches wide) as well as 2x2 wooden ties (1.75 inch real width).

Charles Field Track Panel Jig has also been adapted for Texas Standard Tie Spacing.
