While at Houston Area Live Steamers Chugga Chugga Chili Fest, February 2014, I met Spence Gaskin. He is relatively new to live steam, but not railroading. He is a conductor for a small railroad in Galveston.

Spence brought his Doepke Yardbird, along with some rolling stock he constructed. I was very impressed with what he put together. It looked good and operated well. The HALS track is rather large, and his wooden and PVC rolling stock made it around the track several times. What mattered most is that he had a great time!

Ore Car

The following wooden ore car was listed on an eBay auction in 2014. The design apparently comes out of a club in St Louis, Missouri.
