: I use this type of track and no it is not the normal but I don't like track work. I drive over this with cars and trucks and just run over it with the lawnmower and keep playing trains. I have used this type of track and sold panels of (snap track) to others who wanted a portable track and it's hard to beat. When a show was over I just took a ten foot straight section and used it for a ramp to load the switcher and cars.
