Eviction Threat
Kimball McGinley posted the following on Chaski, 31 July 2014:
- After 25 year in existence in Fairview Park in Costa Mesa, CA, my local club OCME is under threat of eviction! It seems a change of county council and park planning people favor ripping out our railroad to make space for some more baseball fields, soccer fields, and maybe a skate park. A few years ago the club survived an attempt to expand the adjacent golf course (also on park land) with a letter-writing campaign from local moms whose kids loved our trains.
- I have sent a letter to the appropriate person, if you are local, or like to come visit our club and maybe spend some money when you do, maybe you could help by sending your own letter too?
