Hockey puck

A Hockey puck is a turnout control mechanism. It is sometimes referred to as a "kick switch".

According to Peter Bryan the inventor of the hockey puck is Pat McCarthy of Pleasant Hill, KS.

The Iowa Model Steam Engineers use kick switches. We also add an electrical conduit and a kick at both ends so you can come up to a switch and throw it without getting off your engine.
