All the best for the Christmas season,

Dear friends!
Bill Yoder

In order to decrease file size, I have turned the three files into seven. Pickings were thin this time until Pat Fahey published extensive files on [[Bill Van Brocklin]]’s locomotives on the [[IBLS]] website. So we’re now up to 415 entries. Much more could be done yet on North American-prototype stuff in the UK and the Commonwealth in general.

A few men continue to send along thorough reports on their locos, which is much appreciated!

Dear friends:

My forecast from a year ago turns out to be pretty much correct: This is the first update of the directory since 30 December 2021.

The really great news for 2022 amongst all the bad: Chuck Balmer’s 6-8-6 PRR turbine is complete. What a beauty! I understand it may still need some running-in.

We’re now up to 684 locos - about 33 more than last year. I’ve also replaced 20 or so loco photos with higher-quality ones.

Yes, I quake when I think of all the possibilities for misinformation in such a directory. What is one to do? I do as well as I can with mostly written sources, wading through old magazines and even googling obituaries. Sadly, I don’t have Pat Fahey, Steve Bratina or Jim Leggett living next door.

In closing a word from our non-sponsor: Bruce Hope from Greater London has done wonderful work for me and is open to taking on tasks from other hobbyists. If you would like to get in contact with him, drop me a line.

May our world very soon enjoy much greater peace.

All the best for the Christmas season,

Bill Yoder
